We are pleased to announce that NK Works Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Noritsu Koki Co., Ltd., has developed software for kiosks and consumer terminals that enables customers to make prints from their iPhones at retail.

With the rapid spread of smartphones on a global scale, the number of people who take pictures with their smartphones is on the rise. Providing iPhone users with the ability to make prints from their iPhone images quickly and easily enables them to do more with their photos. Furthermore, retailers that offer this service will gain the advantage of having this work for them as a promotion tool for retail prints, and this is sure to spark interest, which will result in more customer traffic.

A software upgrade for the consumer terminal is necessary to support input form iPhones. After the upgrade, consumers can easily order iPhone prints in the same way as regular print orders from the consumer terminal by simply connecting their iPhone to the consumer terminal through a dock connector. Furthermore, in addition to regular prints, they can make a wide range of photo products such as photo books. This provides them with a wider variety of ways to enjoy their iPhone photos.

Overview of iPhone print order process

All you have to do is connect your iPhone to the consumer terminal through a dock connector, and the images in your camera roll will be automatically read and the order reception process will begin. After that, you simply place your print order in the same way that normal print orders are placed when using a Noritsu consumer terminal.
